Jatina is a small home-based cattery in the western part of the Netherlands.
For many years we were visiting cat shows with our Somali cats. “We” are Inge and Ed Develing.
At these shows we realised that Maine Coon cats attracted us very much. Not just their wonderful appearance but most certainly their character appealed to us.

At one point we decided to buy our first Maine Coon cat. She became good friends with our Somali.
Soon we went looking for a new Maine Coon playmate for her and since that time our Maine Coon family has extended. Now we have a nice group with national and international Maine Coons.

We are dedicated to producing healthy kittens with the wonderful Maine Coon cat personality. We put particular value on character. A Maine Coon should be robust and strong but also gentle and affectionate. Besides that, the Maine Coon should be easy to get on with people and other pets. All of this we try to “pack up” in a non-agouti cat.

We raise kittens with three guiding principles: socialization, early handling and environmental enrichment. Our house is a playground of toys and climbing places and the outside run give them fresh air, sunshine and birds to watch. They have contact with the adult cats and children at all times in order for them to be well socialised when they leave for their new homes. Our kittens are loved and handled from the day they are born. They stay with their mom and littermates until they are self-confident and ready to “move away from home” when they are about 13 weeks old.
